My research focuses on developing and applying advanced statistical methods to a variety of problems in cosmology and astroparticle physics, from the study of initial conditions for cosmic microwave background anisotropies, to the reconstruction of dark energy and dark matter properties, from the optimization of future large scale surveys to the status and meaning of probability in cosmology.

I am the author of over 60 scientific publications (in 12 of which I am lead author, and in 4 I am single author), 3 of which have appeared in Phys. Rev. Lett., a number of conference proceedings and one chapter in a book. My h-index is 35 and my work has over 4500 citations. I have given over 100 talks, invited reviews, seminars and colloquia.

Comments: Major revision with respect to the original version (2005): new results using WMAP 3-yr data, scale-invariant spectrum now disfavoured with moderate evidence. Comparison with WMAP 1st yr data release and updated discussion of the prior dependence. New benchmark test for the accuracy of the method, statistical errors added to the results. Bayes factor forecast methodology (PPOD, formerly called ExPO) expanded and now presented in a companion paper (astro-ph/0703063)
