I am a SPIRE post-doctoral research associate working on SPIRE operations, testing, mission planning and training at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory. I joined the SPIRE Instrument Control Centre in 2007.
Before this, I was a Perren funded PhD student in Imperial working under the supervision of Prof. Michael Rowan-Robinson and Dr. Antonis Georgakakis on multi-wavelength surveys of AGN detected in SWIRE. I spent my undergraduate years at the Aristotle University (BSc Mathematics) and the Queen Mary University of London (MSc Astrophysics) supported by a PPARC studentship.
My research interests include the co-evolution of the AGN and their host galaxies, AGN obscuration, the nature of ULIRGs, the characterization of infrared populations and large multi-wavelength surveys. I am involved in SWIRE, HerMES, SAG2, ATLAS, SERVS and VIDEO. A list of publications can be found here.
As a Toumba native, I am a proud supporter of PAOK FC.
I have now moved to the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics at Harvard University under a Smithsonian Postdoctoral Fellowship to work in the High Energy Astrophysics Division. My new email address is: mtrichas@ null head.cfa.harvard.edu
